Backgammon unblocked lets you play one of the oldest board games in the world, a clever mix of dice luck and smart planning. Your mission is to move every checker into your home board and then remove them all before your opponent manages the same. Set up a match on Classroom 7x and start rolling.
About Backgammon
Each player controls 15 checkers that travel around a board of 24 narrow triangles, called points, in opposite directions. On every turn you roll two dice and move your pieces according to the numbers shown. Land on a point holding a single enemy checker and you hit it, sending it to the bar in the middle of the board, where it must re-enter before its owner can move anything else. That constant threat keeps every move interesting.
Once all of your checkers reach your home board, the final quarter of the track, you can begin bearing them off, and the first player to remove every piece wins. Dice add plenty of luck, but good decisions shape most games. Building safe points with two or more checkers, blocking your opponent's path and knowing when to take risks are what separate strong players from lucky ones. Backgammon rewards anyone willing to learn those patterns.
How to Play Backgammon
- Roll the dice at the start of your turn to see how many points you can move.
- Select a checker and move it forward by the number shown on one of the dice.
- Use both dice each turn, either on a single checker or split between two different checkers.
- Hit single enemy checkers to send them to the bar, and protect your own by stacking two or more on a point.
- Bring all of your checkers into your home board, then bear them off to win the game.

Tips and Tricks
- Avoid leaving single checkers, called blots, where your opponent can easily hit them. Two or more checkers on a point make it safe from capture.
- Try to build several made points in a row in front of your opponent's back checkers. A wall like that can trap them and waste their rolls.
- Make points in your home board early when you can. They make it much harder for any of your opponent's hit checkers to re-enter.
- When you pull far ahead in the race, focus on running home safely instead of hitting. Fewer contacts means fewer chances for bad luck to turn the game.
- Doubles let you move the number shown four times, so plan how to use all four moves for the biggest possible gain.

Backgammon FAQ
What does bearing off mean in Backgammon?
Bearing off is the final stage, when you remove your checkers from the board. You can only start once all 15 of your checkers are in your home board, and the first player to bear off every checker wins the game.
What happens when your checker gets hit?
A hit checker goes to the bar in the middle of the board. You must bring it back into your opponent's home board with a dice roll before moving any other pieces, which can cost you valuable time.
How much of backgammon is luck?
The dice add real luck to every turn, so anyone can win a single game. Over many games, though, smart decisions about which moves to make, when to hit and when to play safe give skilled players a clear advantage.
Can I play Backgammon on a school Chromebook?
Yes. Backgammon runs in the Chrome browser on Chromebooks, Windows PCs and Macs with nothing to install. It is designed for a keyboard and mouse, so it plays best on a computer rather than a phone.
Is Backgammon free to play?
Yes, Backgammon is completely free on Classroom 7x. There is no download, no account and no sign-up. Press Play and the game loads right on this page.
